Thomas Bent, MD

Tom is a family physician in Laguna Beach, California, is the medical director and CEO of Laguna Beach Community Clinic, a non-for-profit clinic that strives to meet the needs of the county’s underserved population. Dr. Bent has served on curriculum development teams and master faculty panels for several CAFP initiatives including depression, ADHD, Motivational Interviewing, and Cease Smoking Today. He has served on both the CAFP and American Academy of Family Physicians’ Committees on Continuing Professional Development and chaired the AAFP Committee in 2006. Dr. Bent received his medical degree from University of Guadalara, Mexico and completed his internship and residency in family medicine at the University of California, Irvine. He is President of CAFP for 2009-2010.
